Cela est attribuable \u00e0 une repr\u00e9sentation inad\u00e9quate des processus physiques cl\u00e9s \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chelle d&rsquo;un ou de quelques kilom\u00e8tres (\u00e9chelle du kilom\u00e8tre), inf\u00e9rieure \u00e0 l&rsquo;espacement typique des grilles dans les mod\u00e8les g\u00e9n\u00e9raux. Ces inconv\u00e9nients limitent les actions d&rsquo;anticipation et l&rsquo;adaptation \u00e9clair\u00e9e par les pr\u00e9visions aux ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques extr\u00eames comme les s\u00e9cheresses et les inondations, ou en r\u00e9ponse aux changements dans le d\u00e9but des saisons des pluies.<\/p>\n\n<p>L&rsquo;objectif de ce projet est d&rsquo;\u00e9laborer deux \u00e9tudes de cas pour explorer et mettre \u00e0 l&rsquo;essai la mesure dans laquelle les informations \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chelle du kilom\u00e8tre peuvent aider \u00e0 la planification et \u00e0 la prise de d\u00e9cisions en mati\u00e8re d&rsquo;adaptation. La premi\u00e8re concerne l&rsquo;Afrique australe, o\u00f9 les pluies sont essentielles pour l&rsquo;agriculture et les moyens de subsistance d&rsquo;une grande partie de la population. Afin de mieux comprendre le signal du retard de la saison des pluies, les projections d&rsquo;ensemble \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chelle du kilom\u00e8tre seront compar\u00e9es aux mod\u00e8les de circulation g\u00e9n\u00e9raux.<\/p>\n\n<p>La deuxi\u00e8me \u00e9tude de cas concerne la ville de Lusaka, en Zambie, o\u00f9 la croissance d&rsquo;\u00e9tablissements non planifi\u00e9s dot\u00e9s de peu d&rsquo;infrastructures expose la population au risque d&rsquo;inondation pendant la saison des pluies. Cette \u00e9tude de cas s&rsquo;appuiera sur la cartographie communautaire des inondations, utilis\u00e9e en conjonction avec les inondations projet\u00e9es avec et sans mod\u00e8les \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chelle du kilom\u00e8tre, ainsi que leurs cons\u00e9quences.
