From its early design stage, Gender, Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI or GEI) has been a key component of the CLARE programme. Climate change increasingly and disproportionately affects the world’s most vulnerable, impacting diverse groups in diverse ways depending on intersecting identities such as gender, age, ability, class, and ethnicity.

This CLARE webinar, held on 8 September 2026, focused on “Gender, Equity and Social Inclusion (GESI): Centering the Lived Realities of Those Most Affected by Climate Change”. Across the CLARE portfolio, projects are aiming to contribute to more inclusive and effective climate adaptation strategies while informing practical, long-term changes in power relations as well as norms, roles and inequalities.

This webinar, held as part of the CLARE webinar series, partners from across the CLARE programme shared what they’re learning about GEI and intersectionality, while showcasing project results related to shifting cultural norms, masculinities, disability inclusion, participation in feminist spaces, and more.
