Climate Risk Early Warning System (CREWS)
Through CLARE, the UK provide support to the Climate Risk Early Warning Systems Initiative (CREWS). CREWS enables and empowers activities which increase the availability of, and access to, early warning systems in LDCs, including 23 fragile or conflict nations. There are close linkages and learning between CREWS and FCDO funded Weather and Climate information Services (WISER) programmes. CREWS impact is underpinned by the expertise and collective experience of its implementing partners – the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the World Bank Group/Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR), and the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR).
